CHOPARD

Chopard's pocket watches and chronometers quickly gained a reputation for their precision and reliability, attracting attention not only in Switzerland and Europe but as far as the court of Tsar Nicholas II in Russia. In recognition of the quality of his work, he became the official provider of watches for the Swiss Railways.

After Louis-Ulysse Chopard's death in 1915, his son Paul-Louis took over the business and opened another workshop in La Chaux-de-Fonds, which eventually became the company headquarters. The firm relocated again in 1937, this time to Geneva, the internationally renowned capital of fine watchmaking. This move brought Chopard closer to their clientele, who highly valued the technical sophistication and accuracy of their timepieces.

The third generation of the Chopard family, Paul-André, took over in 1943 and spent the next two decades building on his family's legacy. However, none of his sons wanted to take over the company, leading him to search for a suitable buyer. In 1963, he found the perfect match in Karl Scheufele, a family-run manufacturing jeweler and watchmaker from Germany. Karl Scheufele III knew within half an hour of meeting Paul-André that he wanted to purchase the company, fulfilling his family's long-held wish to acquire a Swiss manufacturing business.

Under the Scheufele family's ownership, Chopard has transformed into a global brand, not just offering fine Swiss watches but also an expanding range of fine jewelry. Their most famous collection is the Happy Diamonds range, which celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2016. The creativity of Karl and Karin Scheufele is continued by their children Caroline and Karl-Friedrich, the current co-presidents of the company. In 2007, they launched their first Haute Joaillerie Red Carpet collection, followed by the Haute Joaillerie Animal World collection in 2010 to mark the 150th anniversary of Chopard.

Chopard has created many famous works over the years, including their Happy Diamonds collection, which features diamonds that float freely between two sapphire crystals, creating a playful and joyful effect. The collection has become an iconic part of the brand and celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2016.

Another famous collection is the Imperiale collection, which was inspired by the noble codes and aesthetic of ancient Rome. The collection features bold, architectural designs with a feminine touch, and is a symbol of power and elegance.

Chopard is also known for their exceptional high jewelry creations, which are often inspired by nature and animals. The Animal World collection, launched in 2010 to celebrate the brand's 150th anniversary, features exquisite pieces that depict animals in their natural habitats.

In addition to their jewelry, Chopard is famous for their high-end watches, including their L.U.C collection, which is named after the founder Louis-Ulysse Chopard. The collection features elegant and sophisticated timepieces, crafted with the highest standards of Swiss watchmaking.
